Storyteller Manual

The Storyteller is the most important role in this game, just one more burden you to bear as a parent or guardian, responsible for the development of another human life.

The Storyteller takes on a bit of a different role than that of a DM or GM. Less time is spent on whether an action is allowed and instead creative problem solving ideas should be rewarded and try to work into the story as much as possible.

Remember, all creatures (and heroes) are immune to physical, magical, and any otherworldly damage. The heroes are to interact with creatures for the purpose of problem-solving, not slaying.
I keep my maps to an 8x10 grid, so it can be printed on a standard 8.5"x11" sheet of paper. This is to make the maps accessible to almost everyone without having to go out and buy special paper.

Designing your Own Maps

Your maps should be short and contain about 5 or 6 events until you can end it at a cliffhanger after about 15 to 20 minutes. While you might need to keep them on a rail for the first minute or so to establish the plot, I would encourage you to leave most of the rest of the map open to exploration. Don't get bogged down with details on whether actions are realistic or not. Reward their creativity. If they sincerely want to leap over a mountain, have them try, roll a skill check, and then corral them back to the direction of the story.
